About Amanda
Beauty pageant queen, author and charity founder Amanda Nkomo's time at the University of Wolverhampton studying Health Studies encouraged her to "dream big, be bold, and always strive for more".
Having grown up watching America's Next Top Model and Britain's Next Top Model, Amanda started entering beauty pageants when she was 17. She says that pageant entrants "have to stand for something" and used this fact to promote volunteering for important causes and furthering her dedication to her own charity work. She has since seen enormous success in beauty competitions, such as winning Miss World Zimbabwe UK and competing in Miss Globe 2023.
Amanda founded the Ngcono Mbowane Foundation in 2019 in her home country of Zimbabwe, to focus on keeping girls in education and health issues which primarily affect young women. She strives to ensure her foundation leaves a positive legacy on the world and has received high-profile awards for her work, including Rising Star at the Zimbabwean International Women's Awards, Zimbabwean Young Achiever of the Year, and being recognised as one of Africa's Forty Under 40 in philanthropy.
